I've never heard of Moot Davis, just noticed that he's coming to Augusta, Ga. and thought I should check him out. A traditional country player with Gary & Pete in his band. Those two I am familar with.

I don't know Moot either, but if Gary and Pete are carrying him around with them, he's got to be pretty fair.

Moot's got a kinda Rockabilly meets Hank Sr. thang goin on and he's pretty good at it. Of course Pete and Gary are always worth checking out. I don't know who's on drums this time around but if it's John Palmer,he's outstanding also. -MJ-

Pete will be there, but Gary won't be on the gig. And Moot is way cool...

Hey Skip,
Are playing in this group?
Are you playing accordion or just keys?

I worked with Moot on a New Year's Eve gig a couple of years ago. At that time he was playing of traditional country: Hag, Hank, even a Gram Parsons tune thrown in for good meassure. His original stuff seemed to blend real well with the rest of the material. He's worth checking out.

Go if you can.

I've had Moot's album since early 2004 and lucked out seeing him open for Dale Watson in Jan 05. Another Texas tour is coming in May.

Also his booking agent Theresa is a friend of mine from my BR549 connections.

Moot’s music was also chosen to appear in the upcoming feature film “Crash,” starring Sandra Bullock, Ludacris, Brendan Fraser, Don Cheadle, and Matt Dillon.

Look for Whiskey Town
