My old guitar player friend and I were looking through a book of charts we used to do in our band years ago when we came across one called "Song For Sarah". I used to play this regularly, but for the life of me I can't remember any of it or where I even heard it. Does anyone know who recorded it and where I might find a copy of it? |

I'm almost sure it wasn't Paul Franklin, but I can't even find any references to his recording. |

Definitely Paul Franklin. I believe the album was Just Pickin...from the late 70's early 80's.
Scotty's Anthology of Pedal Steel book had this tune tabbed out and recorded on a cassette. That's where I learned it and it's still on my playlist today. |

To all: it's a great song, I just dusted it off and played it Sunday night at a club. It IS indeed in Scotty's "Mel Bay's Anthology of Pedal Steel,'" on cassette in the good ol' days when the book was spiral bound, now on CD in the degraded books that are perfect bound (won't lay flat). I just lodged a complaint about this with Mel Bay Publishing today, and apparently it's a frequent user complaint, but spiral bound books are a nightmare to ship and to keep neat on-shelf, they love to mate with each other, so stores hate them.
Now back to topic. : )

I knew I could get you guys to kick-start my tired old brain. It is indeed Paul Franklin's tune and I got it from one of Scotty's tapes. Now, if I can figure out where the heck that tape is. Thanks all! |

Mr. Bosler,
Duane Marrs, with Paul's permission, wrote some nice lyrics to Paul's song...
I was fortunate enough to record it with Duane playing steel..It is on my album "Sweet Dreams...Surrounded By Stars.."
Give a listen sometimes...
