I`d try a Highlander before anything else. By the way, who makes this guitar?

Mark,
They were made by a very dear friend of mine who has, since, passed on. Bill Merritt, played bass for Tex Ritter,& also worked as a luthier for Grammer & Sho~Bud guitars. I'll tell you how good his "resos" were. Tommy White played one,Hal Rugg had a "Dobro", tried a "Slyde",& put his "Dobro" up for sale & BOUGHT the "Slyde". Bill sold them for $1000,& they were well worth it. Unfortunately, they are like Dekley steels. Rare,& them that's got 'em,are keeping 'em. I sure do miss ol' Bill.

Paul Beard worked with fishman to develop a pickup I have used with pleasure, but then I'm a big Fishman fan. Available at Resophonic outfitters. Howe |

Hey Smiley,
Back about the time when Bill was playing bass with Uncle Don and the Drifting Cowboys, He and Shot Jackson decided to make 2 hand made 6 string Sho-Bro square necks. These were the last 2 that Shot made before he died. I had old B.S.( That's Bobbe Seymour ) aquire the last one for me. This was about 1984 or 85 I think? Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I have the last hand made Sho-Bro that Shot and Bill Merrit made together.
See ya later Smiley and tell Don and Ms. Hazel I love 'em ! |
