On the way home tonight I heard a station play Patsy's "He's Got You". I got chills even though it was 42 years since it was a hit, and tears in my eyes. Maybe that's why my youngest is named after her. Does this happen to anybody else?

Rather than try to pick a favorite, I'd say I'm partial to most any of her stuff done with Owen Bradley producing.

What can I say? She was just a great female singer, the likes of which had never been heard in country music up until that time. Even considering today's crop of female singers, and all the ones that have come and gone since her death in 1963, she has few peers.

She was that good.

Speaking of Patsy, her brother Sam just passed away this pass monday he was 64. I haven't seen him in 20 years. I can't remember the title for sure but something about courtroom and goodbye but I love all her stuff.

I think I am the only one in Holland that own's all of Patsy's material.
I run in to people that like to have this material almost every day.

They all have to wait till I have it all sorted out.
But in my book there never was and never will be a better female vocalist.

It just seems strange that I can hear her sing and can get those feelings. The stuff is over 40 years old and it still hits me.

Samuel L. Hensley Jr., 64, of Bunker Hill, W.Va., died Monday, Nov. 1,
2004, at his home. Mr. Hensley was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Lexington,
the son of Samuel L. and Hilda V. Patterson Hensley. He was
self-employed as a master plumber and a member of Winchester Eagles
Aerie 867.

Surviving are three daughters, Patricia A. Taylor of Palm Bay, Fla.,
Susan Rannells and Kimberly Kline, both of Winchester; a son, Martin
Williams of Winchester; a sister, Sylvia H. Wilt of Woodstock; seven
grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and his companion, Rebecca A.
Williams.

A daughter, Vonda H. Kelly; and a sister, Virginia H. Dick (Patsy
Cline), are deceased.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester,
with the Rev. Dr. Richard Slider officiating.

Always have been a huge Patsy Cline fan. Just about a month ago I purchased Patsy Cline - The Definitive Collection CD. I have to add 'Walkin' After Midnight' and 'I Fall to Pieces' to the list of special tunes. My Mom taught me to sing 'Walkin' After Midnight'when I was four years old. Like Steinar said, there's no substitute for quality.

Patsy Cline songs still give me chills, and every time I her one I think "No other artist will ever be able to do this any better". They are perfect, and timeless.
The first time I heard the songs was when my older brother returned from the Air Force after being stationed in Texas. I was pretty young in 63 (10 years old). Even then her songs moved me, and still do today.

I have heard a couple of different track she did of Walkin' After Midnight, but there's one she did with a blues groove that works for me. I think my fave is "if You've Got Leavin' on Your Mind". (but they were ALL good)
