Time Life now offers 3 dvd's or 4 tapes with
6 shows and the original eposode with laugh
extras for 29.99.
More will follow for 19.95 a month.
Anyone else thinking about committing?
Anyone here ever play on Hee Haw ?

| I am a subscriber to the Hee Haw series and received my fourth one two weeks ago and they're great. A trip back in time starting with early shots of Jay Dee playing for Buck before he learned to smile on TV. He looked too serious back then. I'm glad he got over his shyness. |

| Curly was part of the house band and did a few solos when the band played but I never knew him to solo by himself. Once when Roy Clark did "In The Mood" Curly took a great C6 break and got great camera time also. I treasure my video of it. |

Ron, they don't have any commercials except Junior's car sales, you know, BR 549. I don't think the original tapes had any ads so the local stations could insert their own spots. I think the first season was on CBS who may have had commercials in them but the network dropped the show and it went into sydication without the ads.
These are good-as-new quality and may even be restored but are first class and a real hoot trip back in time. Also it's hard to believe that most of the people are no longer living. I think the women are all still with us except Miss Minnie. Of course Tammy and Dottie are both gone too.[This message was edited by Gary Walker on 24 May 2004 at 10:44 PM.] |

My memories of this series are better then those of the Glen Campbell show. After seeing the footage of hillbillys with push mowers during Who's Gonna Mow your Grass I can sence what certain fans were thinking of Buck Owens.
It was also a brave move to have Charlie Pride as a featured guest and Ben Colder do Hello Walls 2.
Tonight I will look at the next 2 shows offered featuring Tammy,George,Waylen and Jessie. |

Looked at the latest set this week which was 1974 with Dolly Parton and 1977 with Kenny Rodgers. Jerry was that you featured during one of the fiddlers numbers?
I think I like the earliest eposodes the best.
