Just a few comments about this fine CD by Ray Charles and friends. My favorite cut is the first one with Nora Jones ("Here We Go Again"); I play it so much in my pickup that even my German Shorthair (he rides along with me a lot) is starting to roll his eyes when I turn on the player. I almost run off the road when Billy Preston kicks %^&* on that B3. I find it interesting that Nora starts the song with a harmony line instead of the melody (sort of a nice touch, methinks).
My next fav is cut 3, "You Don't Know Me" with Diana Krall. The only thing I dislike about this cut, though, is the last note Diana sings at the end. I find that note painful to my ears and I am just curious if any of you hear it the way I do. It's sort of like she sings the root when the band goes to a maj7 or something like that? Maybe I'm just not "hip" enough to understand what she is trying to do here? Any comments? Dan

Yeah, Dan, I had the same reaction to the Krall cut: I wished she had sung the major 7th on that last note instead of the root...
