Been listening to a Chet album on the Russian site called "String Dustin". Sounds like a pretty sure thing it was Jerry Byrd. He's there on every song. Also a hot mandolin player. Gotta be Homer. Anyone confirm this? |

Roy,
It's got to be Jerry or Billy. I think I'll go with Jerry. Probably wrong on that to. To be honest I couldn't remember who played mandolin, Jethro or Homer.
Mr. Schubert.............Hi neighbor. Just noticed you're from Columbia. |

It IS......"JERRY BYRD" and no other.
I should have been much more specific in my above comments. I was referring to the STRING DUSTIN' album that was being discussed and not the entire list of albums that Chet made.[This message was edited by Ray Montee on 29 October 2004 at 11:12 AM.] [This message was edited by Ray Montee on 01 November 2004 at 09:08 AM.] |

I have several transcriptions of the old 2 guitars radio show w/Jerry. Also an LP with Bud Isaacs using pedals only when it really helped the song. Great!! CC |

I have a bunch of Chet albums and the only one with steel would be "A Session With Chet Atkins" which featured Bud Issacs on steel. There's a great cut of "Caravan" on this where Bud does a hot ride....JH

Go here to hear killer steel with Chet. Weldon I think. Go to the Hometown Guitar L.P. and Click on Huntin Boots. http://freddie.spb.ru/ |

Didn't Bobbe Seymour play with Chet Atkins on the road in the late 1960s? What about the Chet Atkins albums of the era?
