I never get tired of listening to Billy Walker. He has one of the best voices in country music, and has some of the best songs. Does anyone know how old he is ?

I worked with Billy Walker in ’71–’72, and even by then; my hair was also gone! One day I said to Billy, “I think I'll make my own Hairpiece!”. He said, “You can't do that. People go to school for years, to learn how to do that!” Several weeks later, I showed up like this: click here Billy said, “You didn't make that, did you?” I said, “Sure did!” {He gave me his hairpiece!} BTW: Workng with Billy, was the best job I ever had! I remember Billy Walker for coming off the bandstand back in about 1964, to admonish a "drunk" who was harrassing my wife at the band table! I was playing, and with lights in my face I didn't see the problem! He did...thank you again Billy Walker!

I really like his version of "Circumstances". Trouble is, trying to find the version they play on XM-13. Bought a CD from Amazon but track was different from version played on the radio.
"Charlies Shoes" hit's close to home. Guess what my lovely wife's first husband's name was (really...). Every once in a while I play the tune for her just to see her reaction [This message was edited by Ray Minich on 11 October 2004 at 09:27 AM.] |

| I played Bass for Billy in 1968 and part of 1969. One of the nicest guys I ever worked with.He always said you work with me not for me. Always treated the band with respect.If my health would permit and if I had the opportunity,I!d do all over again. Max |
