What has happened to the S-8 and S-10 Gibson lap Guitars. Gibson must have made quite a few of these guitars. I don't recall seeing any of these guitars for sale.

Canopus has a Sunburst, Gibson look-A-like S-8 for over $1,000.

During late 1940's, my dad purchased for me, a sunburst lap steel, with Ivory or whatever trim around the top and bottom of the guitar body; beautiful chrome pickup covers, etc.
Of the dozens I've seen for sale on eBay and elsewhere, none even closely resembling mine has ever been found.
The wood on mine closely matched the double neck Console they were making at that time.
