The Musicians Friend catalog always arrives in the mail at the same time as the AMS catalog, and I stack them together at the corner of my desk with the current magazines for reference. I regularly buy from both companies and, while their prices are pretty much the same, often one will offer an item that the other doesn't.

Yesterday the catalogs came in the mail. The AMS catalog is typical, but the MF catalog is grossly oversized. It measures 11"x12" - 65% larger in surface area than the standard 8"x10" of other catalogs and magazines.

I'm sorry, MF, but I'm not giving you a bigger corner of my desk. If you insist on sizing your catalog like the daily newspaper, it will receive the same treatment: scan once and recycle. AMS stays on the desk, in the stack with current magazines. I think that your marketing coup just backfired.

b0b, wait a week or so and you will get another one, in the old size. The big one is a sale catalog. I just received the smaller version.

The smaller catalog arrived yesterday. The big one is in the trash. They must be reading my posts - they moved the Carter Starter off of the b@jo page.

MF people have been here and seen b0b's picture, thought he was aging and eyesight probably failing, decided he needed a catalogue large enough for him to be able to read. Just don't understand why they sent a youngster like me one of the big ones.

"If big is good, then bigger is probably better!"

I reckon Dolly Parton felt that way, anyhow'

Bobby, my man, you need a bigger desk for books and such! (Or, roll up the catalog, put a rubber-band around it, then stand it on it's end. That's called "compressing data".)
