Hey Dale,
I just got an email from Dale Norris in California asking me if I'd heard anything about Bobby Ray. Do you remember him? He moved to Oklahoma City in the 70's and he and I went to see you at the Holiday Inn one night when the guy who plays acoustic guitar with George Strait was playing lead for you. Is Bobby still alive? And if so do you have any info on him like a phone number or email address. He and I worked a lot together in Orange Country along with Dale Norris too. Also is Buddy Banks the drummer still in that area? Thanks and have a great day.....JH

Hi Jerry Hayes. I've been wondering if you were the same Jerry Hayes that I had met. I'm sorry to say that Bobby Ray died of a heart attack in in the late 80's. I went to his funeral. Buddy Banks, I think, passed away also, I hope I'm wrong but I know he had a bad heart and I hadn't heard any different in a long time. The guy that was playing lead for me Is David Anthony (he wrote something special) that George recorded. He has had some medical problems for a while but supposed to go back to work with George in June. At least thats what he told me when I talked to him on Christmas day.I have aready made my reservations for the Dallas Jambore in March I sure hope I get to see you there. Anyway, pleas stay in touch. My E; Addy is tendnbar@aol.com. Later, db |

Hey Dale,
Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear about Bobby and Buddy. If you ever get a chance to go to Scotty's convention in St.Louis there's always some of the old SoCal crowd there to make it interesting. Have a great one....JH
