Jeff...I discovered Elva many years ago. He's one super guy. I mentioned his TRADEWIND guitars about 2 years ago on the Forum. I have one of his double neck (8)guitars which seemed to wow them when I played it in New Zealand. Solomon Kam in Hawai'i liked mine so much, he had Elva make a duplicate double 8 for himself and is playing it at the Elk's Club in Waikiki every week. I also have a single 8 TRADEWIND and 2 single 6 TRADEWINDS plus an 8 string Frypan all made by Elva...I guess it could be said I am an enthusiastic endorser of his guitars !

I'd love to see a picture of the frypan if you have one you could post.

Elva is a supernice guy! We sat together at Auntie Genoa's, and spent a little time one afternoon playing some tunes on his beautiful guitars. They sound great and are lightweight too, which is a big big plus when traveling. A double neck fits nicely in a slim case that he has to go with it, so you can carry it on a plane with no problem. The string spacing was 3/8" straight across (nut and bridge) if I'm not mistaken.

You guys are right, Elva builds some nice guitars and is really a fine gentleman. I played one of his 8 string models in Waikiki in the HSGA convention 2001 get-together. Very well built stuff he puts out.
