Yes,

Crystal Gayle did record it. And it was one of her all time great hits.

I really love to hear her sing it. It also is incredibly beautiful when a number of the greats play it on the pedal steel guitar.

Like "phantom of the Opera", it is awesome to wait for that special moment; for that one phrase that "makes" the song sooo alluring; to most who hear it.

Hi Erik,

Crystal Gayle's "When I Dream" was NOT country either. But I sure loved it and still do. As I did Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville" and Linda Rhonstats "Blue Bayou"; along with countless other non-country classics.

Also, who could ever forgit Ray Price's "For the Good Times". A non cuuntry classic if there ever was one. But shonuf was purtee!!

Heard Ron Elliott do "When I Dream" live at the OSGA show a few years back. A killer performance. Jody.

There's also a great arrangement on the "Chicken Pickin' Plus" CD by Jimmie Crawford & Russ Hicks.

You got that right, Malcolm !! I was going to post the same thing because I like the twin steel harmony parts on that album.
