DAVID, on another thread you mentioned that you own a Bruno double-neck. I have not played one,as yet, so I was wondering how yours stacks up against a Stringmaster? Tone wise and features?? The two pickups on the back neck intrigue me. I know where a couple of them are and am seriously considering buying one. Just your experience and opinions are good enough here. If you prefer, you could e-mail me about this.
Thanks, Wayne

Wayne,
I do like the Bruno but it does not get played often.
I just set it up to refresh my thoughts about it before I answered your question.
1)I like the sound of the guitar. It a little less flexible than a Stringmaster because the front neck only has one pickup and the back neck has no blending pot, just on/off for each pickup. I think all of the sound options are good but I do not like this placement of the switches between the necks.
2)The string spacing is wider than a stringmaster so bar slants are easier.
Hope this is helpful.

Thanks DAVID! I decided to order a "Conqueror" D-8. I know the Fender stringmaster is still probably the best, but after offering a guy everything but the kitchen sink for one (to no avail)I decided to go ahead and try a Bruno. I'll let you know how it turns out. It's supposed to be en route right now.
Thanks again! ~~W.C.~~

Just an update. When I received and unpacked the Bruno Conqueror,I realized I had been taken by another E-Bay misrepresentation. No disrespect to the EBay company itself intended here. I experienced a flurry of mixed emotions at first because the chrome hardware was in great shape, but the wooden body was split and cracked. It was not brown as the pictures had shown but had been repainted jet black. Because the hardware was good, I decided to keep the doggone thing and do a restoration/modification project. The project was successful and I now have a really fine sounding D-8. I played it on a session last night and was thrilled at the tone quality. Lemons still make good lemonade!
