Speaking of the Derailers, they will be at the Top Rail in Dallas next Friday. I'll be playing there with Nashville singer, Jamie Richards and we'll be opening for them.

Lots of steel and good stage coverage.
Too bad the Derailers first number got the backstage cut.(What was it?)

Thanks to George Hamilton 4 for stepping in.

What is an "Emerson Drive," and just why would you need one?
At least the staff band and TW played the rides in "Abilene" in the same key.

Emerson drive didn't show me much as far as "Country music" Maybe they went for too long a drive. As far as I'm concerned they can keep driving.

Emerson Drive has great vocals but the lead singer needs to buy a comb
Darel Whorley,,, great entertainer & singer.
Charlie Pride........

Janice, the first song we did was the title cut of the new CD "Genuine".

The Guitar the lead player for the Derailers was playing looked like Don Richs.Too bad they didn't feature them instead of the "drive".If they hit Fla I'd certainly like to take in that show.

I finally got time to watch my tape of the show. This is the first week in months that we've been able to see several steel players, and they were all great!

Tommy White kicked butt and took names as usual behind George Hamilton IV on Abilene.

Chris sounded great on his black Emmons, I look forward to finally meeting him this Friday at the Top Rail.

Eddie Gossien looked and sounded great on his "Tennessee" Fessenden. BTW, he has the same Pitman "Tone Aligner" pickups that I have on my Fessy and his tone was super!

My friend Ronnie Miller sounded great as usual on his GFI with Charlie Pride, and I always enjoy hearing my pal Reggie Reuffer on fiddle. It was a pleasant surprise to see all of the band dress alike, I'd like to see more of that.

TV opry was good..once I got past Emerson Drive! Guess they're okay for what they do. They just ain't my kind of country! I've finally found out (thanks to the forum) who is polaying steel with Charlie Pride; he's got them old licks covered well. And I love the way George Hamilton does "abalene; can't beat a good ole country shuffle!
