Does anyone know if Lloyd Green will be on the show with Steve Wariner? Lloyd was with Steve on the Opry late last year. A clip on Rebel & Ricky's site (2002) is from that performance.

Anyone know what was up with Andy Grigg's steel player and his steel? He wore a Sho-Bud shirt and had a Sho-Bud logo on his steel, but it was a Formica guitar that looked like a Zum to me. ![](http://steelguitarforum.com/confused.gif) |

Did any one notice Tommy White was playing a Birdseye maple Sho-Bud Professional? It didn't have as clear a sound to me as his new MSA.What do youthink?..al") |

I noticed Tommy playing the blonde Sho-Bud. It's hard to tell how it sounded in the few seconds that we get to hear him on TV, he might have just been down in the mix tongiht. (Hope Bill Hankey doesn't see this! ) I'll have to listen to the whole show archives at work next week. |

Al, you may be right about the Bud. It could be for other reasons. It had a darker tone which made it fine for the C6 on JG's great country song. It also might have had a different feel to Tommy. These things are similar but have varied personalities and require different approaches. |

I beleive the steel player for Andy Grig was playing a Mullen with Sho-Bud decal, originally Del was going to neme his guitars the Royal, if I remember correctly, the decal on the guitat that looked like a crown was how I remember the first Mullen fret markers. I loved Andy's tribute to Waylon, especially the version of Hank's Ramblin Man.
Take care all.

Jim Smith; If the guitar in question was the light blue one, I looked closely at the decal, and was thinking at the time that a black decal would have looked better than the white one! However; to me, I read it as ZumSteel! "Big John"

On the second show, Connie Smith sang a ballad. Johnny Cox played the most beautiful ride I've heard in a long time! It was fantastic!

The steel player for Andy Griggs is Chad Udeen, also known as C. J. I met C.J. a few months back and asked him about the guitar he was playing (same one he used on TV 2/15)
He told me it was "...basically a parts guitar...". It has parts from Sho-Bud and Zum and maybe some others.
Chad is an excellent player, and is probably the most entertaining steel player on stage besides Joe Wright. He can lean the steel forward about 30 degrees and still be playing it, among other things. Nice guy, too.
