Apparently there is a set limit for the pay-out. The pot will be split amongst all those who respond in an amount not more than $20, not less than $5 BUT.......if too many people respond and the payout ends up less than $5, then nobody gets nuthin' and the whole pot goes to non-profit or government agencies "to be used for music-related purposes or programs for the benefit of consumers who purchased Music Products".
A whole lotta lawyers had a real nice payday from this load o' nonsense. |

Interestingly enough, MAP policies are used on quite a few products. Are they implying that MAP is patently illegal conspiracy? If so, then a bunch of other folks are guilty, too.

According to my calculations, we would get $20 if only about 7 million people join the suit, or $5 if about 28 million people join the suit. If more join, we get nothing individually and they donate an equivalent value in CDs to some kind of public music programs. That would seem to be about 15 or 20 million CDs.
The form mentions how to file a claim to not be part of this suit. One would only need to do that if one planned to be part of another suit on the same problem.
It seems like a lot of trouble for little individual return. But unless you think you will have some kind of access to the donated CD's (local library, whatever, I don't know), then maybe it is worthwhile filing a claim. You might get the price of a CD, or at least a set of new strings, and the money grubbing bloodsuckers who run the music business with price fixing and payola will get at least a part of their just deserts. Course the lawyers on both sides get their fat checks no matter what.

Funny...I've done several posts here on the FORUM about the high price of ("BIG-RUN COMMERCIAL") CD's. And each time, I was overwhelmingly castigated for my views.
