I'm with you, Jerry. I'm not rushing out to buy their CDs, butI think Hanks II and III have had a tough row to hoe, and are doing alright for themselves. How could they ever even touch the original. I think a lot of people have chips on their shoulders against the younger two, and they have had to overcome that just to be accepted as average musicians. It's to their credit that they both have stayed in some kind of country music and found some way to make their own way. Lots of kids run the other way from what their daddies did. My dad was a Mississippi preacher, and I ... well, we won't get into that.
Let's see, there's John Lennon's kid, and Arlo Guthrie, and didn't one of Bob Dylan's kids play music? There's Pam Tillis, and tons of other people in country music with famous relatives. It helps some and hurts some. Then there's that Bush guy, but that's a whole other story. |
