I'm looking for the song with the greatest number of different chords.

Let's have some nominations for the most "chord-intensive" song you know! Keep it to something that made the Country/Rock/Pop (top-100) charts. No obscure classical numbers, or stuff that was never widely released.

And yes, there is a prize.

Does Buddy Emmons' version of "Gonna Build A Mountain" qualify? It modulates a half step every time through. I think I've heard him play it through 12 times, starting and ending in the key of C.

I think "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" is the winner because every time I hear a steel player play it, I hear a dozen new and different chords.

"The Song Is You"

It also gets my vote for most beautiful progression coming out of the bridge...

How about Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Lady"?

I played that on a transcription around 1950 on my 6 pedal 8 string Gibson Original Electra-Harp, with the full size cabinet.

Those were the days when the Steel Guitar was Accepted in all music fields. Big Bands, etc....al

Well Joseph, I don't know...are we done? Suffice it to say that some of the ones I had thought of haven't appeared yet. Also, judging this is going to be a toughie, since I can't find the charts on all these songs yet.
