| Dallas from Cumquat Recs. sez that John Marsden has finally been notified about his much deserved, Jerry Byrd; Lifetime Achievment Award. Can you give us an update and John's thots? |

Kudos to John Marsden. His contributions have been immense. I can't think of anyone more worthy of this award.
Now, if someone would just nominate Jerry Byrd for a National Heritage Fellowship. He's certainly deserving and the honarium is $20K!

Really, all you need by the NHF application deadline is the nomination letter and a bio, which can be built into the letter.
The letters of support and media support materials can come later. I strongly recommend someone contact Mark Puryear at the NEA to coordinate submittal of the nomination package. 202-682-5522. In fact, call him before you submit anything. He will give you guidance which should result in the strongest application.
