Dallas from Cumquat Recs. sez that John Marsden has finally been notified about his much deserved, Jerry Byrd; Lifetime Achievment Award. Can you give us an update and John's thots? |

Kudos to John Marsden. His contributions have been immense. I can't think of anyone more worthy of this award.
Now, if someone would just nominate Jerry Byrd for a National Heritage Fellowship. He's certainly deserving and the honarium is $20K!

Thanx Basil, I hope he's enjoying it appropriatly. And Bob, you nailed it! The procedure sounds easy enuf, time is short tho. It would be great if someone could put it all together in a months time. |

Really, all you need by the NHF application deadline is the nomination letter and a bio, which can be built into the letter.
The letters of support and media support materials can come later. I strongly recommend someone contact Mark Puryear at the NEA to coordinate submittal of the nomination package. 202-682-5522. In fact, call him before you submit anything. He will give you guidance which should result in the strongest application.
Go for it. JB is not getting any younger. |
