while rumaging thru a box of tapes that were in te attic for 12 yrs
I found this song on one but all of it is gone except for these lines
I'm standing at the end of my world
looking back over my wasted past
I'm standing at the end of my world
wishing that our love could last.

It sort of has a west coast sound
like buck/wynn/ but to hard to make out/recorded in mono
thanks for any help I sure would like to have the rest of the words
it sure would make a belly rubber
at the moose lodge

That's a Melvin Endsley song..."Standing at the End of My World"...came out in the early '60s, I believe.

That would be "Standing at the End of my World" by Bobby Helms. It was the flip side of the monster hit single record "Fraulein" in the late 50's. It was a great song but unfortunatly was on the back side of one huge record. I think the writer got a bunch of money for it though. I think in those days if you had written a song on the back of a hit you'd get as much money as the A side writer got.

Thanks for bring up an old memory. I worked with Bobby Helms in the late '70s and I remember the song but I can't remember playing it but I must have. I sure wish Bobby would get more recognition because he did some great country music.
