I just got a CD in the mail by our moderator's band, Go Van Gogh. Not your typical steel guitar album, that's for sure!

If you can imagine an electric band playing music for belly dancing, you'd be on the right track. Bandleader Connie Walkershaw takes most of the leads on saxophone, but Brad gets to stretch quite out a bit too. Brad kicks in the distortion now and then for more of a rock tone. I don't know what steel(s) he's using, but the attention paid to tone in the studio really shows.

This is really cool stuff. I'm proud of Brad for becoming an integral piece of an all-original instrumental band. Good work.

Follow your muse, Brad!

Thanks, b0b. We call ourselves "Music for a Middle Eastern Western" or "Country Music from Another Country".
I play a National Dynamic tuned to open D (bass to treble D' A D F# A d), and the distortion is courtesy a Boss SD-1 pedal.
The recording was "live" in the studio with no overdubs, so what you hear is what you get. It's a lot of fun!
