Bill,

Jim Owens had a show in Branson, MO two years ago. Don't know if he's still there.

Wasn't he in the HBO movie about Hank's last hours that came out in the early '80's?

Jim Owens just did a show in Sandstone MN at the Midwest Country Theater about three weeks ago. I didn't make it, but a friend said it was a good show.

I played guitar for Jim Ed Brown from 1970 to 1976 and Jim Owen also wrote a top ten hit for Jim Ed called "Southern Lovin" around 1975.Fun song to play.

Hi Earl, who were the musicians on "Country Place". I remember JE playing a kazoo on "Witchita Lineman"...boy I wish he hadn't a done that! Also Crystal Gayle, before she got big used to sing on that show too, I think. Thanks Larry

Hi Larry,Crystal replaced Blake Emmons as co-host on the Country Place. Blake was from Canada. The band members were me, Hank Corwin, Bob Woods, Corky Tittle, and Jim Pierce. The Sound 70 Singers were the vocal back up. Dotty Deleon is the only name I recall from the singers. I replaced Ray Wix when I got hired in June of 1970. I left Skeeter Davis for the gig. Seems like the TV show was cancelled in late 1971 early 1972 but reruns went much longer than that. Crystal worked a lot of dates with us but she didn't travel with us. Yeah, that kazoo really sucked! er' blew!?? Thanks for asking.

Jim still has a show here in Branson. I think that it is a morning show. Jerry Panzier plays steel for him.
