Did any of you guys snag that 8 string Magnatone on Ebay the other day?
That thing looked pretty cool for the money.

| It looked like a 6 string model that had extra strings added to the outside. The lowest bass string on the outside wasn't even on the bridge nor did I see a cut for it (was the seller even playing it?). If it was a 6 string model, did they cut a closer string spacing cut for the nut? Are the outside strings outside of the pickup ends? Too many if's for me to be interested. |

Hey Jesse,
My guess was that it was made an 8 string at the factory with the 6 string body. Since all the tuning pegs match and there didn't appear to be any altering to the headstock, I figured it wasn't modified. If I was going to bid on it, I would have asked for the string spacing.
Anyway, I'm not much for MOTS, but I dig the look of that thing. Besides, it's sold.
