Anybody play slide guitar?

I have a video of Lowell playing 2 concerts. When he played he would be sort of "pick blocking without picks"... In other words, he was using his fingers on his right hand to block the unwanted strings while only letting the picked string ring. Many slide players use this technique. He was tuned to a standard "A" chord and had a compressor built inside his guitar. He used a Music Man amp in these videos. Yes, he used the capo a lot. He was an amazing player.
