Clint was "ahem" laid off from the Strangers in 1995, if you do a web search you should be able to find his website.

Well said, Jason... A little pissed off too, no doubt.

"Pissed off no doubt" - not really.I spent some time picking up in Reno and did a bit of hangin' w/Clint and I can tell ya - he's way too busy pickin to be pissed off.He had about 3 or 4 different bands happening at the same time and was always sitting at the kitchen table writing charts for various projects. His house was one big jam session.Lots of music goin on there - mostly jazz. That guy is the most musical S.O.B.you'll ever run across. He loves Merle but he also knows how to move on... -MJ-

Well said Michael, I've know Clint for about 12 yrs and talked to him a couple months ago and he seems to be doing real good. He had a great run with Merle and put some timeless guitar work on Merle's records but it was time for him to move on and grow more. He is a fun guy to be around. ESnow

Check out Clint's playing on the Hag record of "You've Got a Friend in California"!!! Some great stuff there. I first noticed him playing an acoustic/electric Ovation with Freddy Powers. He's an awsome picker for sure!

Michael: It's good to know Clint is going strong. I should have added my best wishes to him in my earlier remarks. Obviously, that was something to be gotten over -- not a life changing event.

The "Friend in California" album is one of those casettes I'd like to replace with a CD. Good pickin' indeed. I especially liked Norm's up tempo picin' on "I Had a Beautiful Time". (I think that's the title.)

Clint Strong, I'm glad to see his name pop up here on the Forum. I happen to think he is one of the most brilliant players anywhere. I still watch my old VCR tapes with him playing with Hag and it still blows my mind. Glad to hear he is doing well.

Clint's guitar playing along with Tom Morrell's steel on Pterydactyl Ptales Vol. #4 is wonderful. Great clean, melodic swing & bop guitar.
