| Hey everyone, to todays country standards, Lynyrd Sknyrd,Molly Hatchet and 38 Special would be the top draws in country if they were to come out right now. To me they sound just like what Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart are putting out, SOUTHERN ROCK<<<<. Not bad, just not Country<<<<<<<<<. |

Red,
Go buy a Marty Stuart Album.
He was playing the stage of the Ryman with Lester Flatt before some of these so called 'country' artists could talk let alone act in a video.
He has forgot about more country trivia and experiences than many of us will experience in a hundred lives.
He was instrumental in getting the Country Music Hall of Fame up to strength as he owns most prized C/W items that are not housed there.
Marty Stuart IS Country...if your ears can't help you out with that then I don't know what!
It is amazing that you even put him in a class with Molly Hatchet and Travis Tritt.
No offense but you need more research my friend.

Mr Harr,
Just because Marty Stuart has forgotten more about country music than any of us will ever know or Has anything to do with the hall of fame does not mean that he plays "country" music as it seems to be defined here on the forum. I agree that SOME of his stuff does lead to a more COUNTRYFIED type of southern rock. I also agree that he has put out some great traditional country. The fact is that Marty is a very good singer and musician. Being grouped with Tritt and Molly Hachet is not necessarily a bad thing. They too are good musicians.

Joe,
I gotta go along w/ you on this one. Clothes make (at least) half the artist. Porter Wagoner,Faron Young,Buck Owens,& even Tommy Overstreet,had the right idea. None of us ever appeared on stage w/ a tee shirt & jeans. When we took a break,no one ever mistook us for part of the crowd. I don't think anybody in the audience,at the awards show,was wearing a tee shirt & jeans. If I wanna see a singer wearing a tee shirt & jeans,I'll go down to one of the bars on "lowest" Broadway.

That was Chad Jeffers. He used to play for The Wilkinsons before he quit to be a stock-broker.
I understand that his band, The Pinmonkeys, may have some sort of record deal in the works. Though I think the name is being dumped.

Yesterday on the radio I heard the Brad Paisley was voted onto the list of the "10 sexiest people on earth".
He's in line behind Smiley though, of course

p.s. Don't we have to admit that if an artist followed the opinions of the steel guitar forum (including mine) on matters of musical taste, dress, etc, that they would be a spectacular failure ?

| At least Brads part of the show was live, and he did the only shuffle that I heard, and does the shirt realy matter. He most likely done it to get attention, and it looks likt it worked. |

Everyone's gone on and on about Brad's T shirt. Any one fair enough to take on Alan for wearing a pair of jeans with holes in the knee?
Admit it, you don't like Brad's music..so why not leave it at that.
I liked the show myself. George Strait's new song I really like. I liked Alan Jackson doing his "Where Were You", I enjoyed the number the Dixie Chicks did...and Jerry Douglas was outstanding on the dobro.
My wife has 51% of the vote around here, and she says Brad should keep the white T Shirt.

I personaly think Brad Paisley is the best thing to come along for Country music since Alan Jackson.The T shirt didn't impress me at all.

.And in the future maybe they'll want Brad Paisleys Tee shirt too so they can hang it on display in their collection of artist attire.
