Interesting that Spade Cooley's name is only in the title of this listing, but nowhere in the description. It's certainly not clear whether this suit actually belonged to, and was worn by, Spade Cooley, or is just a "Spade Cooley-style" suit. It certainly does look like the style he wore, though. I sent the seller an email inquiry and will let you know if/when she responds.

Normally, when a claim like this is made, there is some sort of provenance accompanying the item. The seller does not mention any, though. I would certainly hope that anyone who buys such an article would ask for verification of some sort. Perhaps a receipt, or a photo of the personality wearing the article. It is a high-end custom-made article, but looks much more late '40s to late '60s, to me.

Actually he had just traded that one in and was in another one giving a concert (for the Police Association?) and whle he was getting a standing ovation, backstage, he was rumored to have said "I think I'm back", had a heart attack and died.

Actually his son caught him and lowered him in a sort of crade postion where Spade died; in his sons arms.
I suppose there are worse ways to leave this world.

There's a bio on Spade being worked on right now. I'm really looking forward to it.
