It's been a while since Hank Jr. had anything of interest for me, but his performance of "America Will Survive"... out of tune singing and all... was inspirational and cathartic. I dig him.

Herb,
I agree! The whole show last night was great. Our artists and musicians shone with pride! Thanks to all and God Bless America!
I hope people will open their wallets and continue to support and give to our country's cause for freedom! Theresa |

As in all fund raisers a lot of the money doesn't go to the main topic however somethings have to be paid for as all expenses can't be donated. If 30% reaches it's intended goal it's a success. Jerry Lewis telethon is happy with 30-50%after expenses. This should not take away from the valiant effort and appearances of the Artist that did a great job, God Bless America and all who do their part as Americans do. Now lets do ours.

I didn't see the entire show, but I saw a lot of it. Predominantly, the artists gave some sincere lip service to the reason for the event, but mostly performed their latest single... not a criticism, BTW, just an observation.
What I dug about Hank was that he re-wrote "Country Boys Will Survive" and totally addressed the issue at hand; namely, the attack on the WTC/Pentagon, and how America will use this event to come together and get stronger in our shock and pain. If that will occur for any lasting amount of time, those dear departed will not have completely died in vain.
"Ain't no Yankees or rebels now, just Americans" as Hank sang. You go, boy!

Herb - There will always be Yankees & Rebels, that's what makes this country great. All we have to do is combine the charm of the North and the efficiency of the South and we can do anything! Best, Boomer |

I agree...
but I would say combining the charm of the South and the efficiency of the North. :>)
We were just talking about Bocephus the other day...
it seems he's not getting much airplay these days.
Time for a comeback? |

Does any on know why CMT would not let Charlie Daniels do his new song,"This an't no rag it's a flag." I have heard it, very good song. IMHO |
