An article in our local paper said Phil and Don are getting ready to hang it up-at least as far as touring with a full band is concerned. Anyone know any more about this?

No, I haven't heard anything.

Where will their band members find other jobs?

I saw them a few weeks ago. Albert had other commitments in Europe. Jamie Hartford filled in for him and did a fine job.

The Steeler was rather good too.
I didn't recognise him from any recent conventions

Ernie will see this I hope.
I did get some AP story last week that some other act would be effected if and when the Everly's quit the road.

I saw an article in the on-line Nashville newspaper a while back that when they finished the UK tour they were on at the time they were going to quit the road. Right after that article came out, Buddy came on and listed where they would be appearing for the next month.

So much for some newspaper reports.

I believe this to be another rumor.

I think it all stemmed from an article about Sawyer Brown going to play at the Homecoming XIV celebration in Central City, KY show. In the Messenger-Examiner, (a KY newspaper.) Here's how it was worded:
"Sawyer Brown and rising country singer Keith Urban will fill out the lineup for the 14th Everly Brothers Homecoming concert Sept. 1. But they might be upstaged by the fact that Phil and Don Everly have said this could be the last year to perform with their full band." They were talking about the Homecoming XIV celebration in KY. Not all of their dates. It was taken out of context.

The celebration is on Sept 1st. For more information about the show follow the link on Buddy's Everly Schedule Page.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

Thanks Ernie

That's exactly the article I saw. I thought the wording looked a little funny. So much for the press, eh?
