Rose, (The Record Lady) just put one of my old records that I did with "Little Darlin Records" in 1968, on her site. It's in the Salute to veterans section, added page.I hope it gets more play now than it did airplay back then.

Leigh, sadly those patriotic songs were just not "commercial" enough to be popular beyond the holidays they were associated with.

While I was working with CT in Japan back in the middle 50's he wrote one of the best songs of that nature that I ever heard, called "Star Spangled Heaven". It was tremendously popular over there among military people, and we never did a performance anywhere without being asked to do it, but to my knowledge he never recorded it on an album. www.genejones.com

Graham.
That's the way I spelled my stage name. It was spelled like that on all my records. She's going to add some more songs this week I think.

Leigh:
So she told me!
I'm looking for a song for her as well. Have feelers out to a couple of record collector friends as she is stumped on it. No title and no singer name, just what she thinks is the chorus:

"Chicken in the bread pan pickin' out dough
And the boys and the girls in a do-si-do
You ain't seen nothin' until you see
My wiggle worm wiggle from Tennessee"

If it rings a bell, would appreciate name and singer. She thinks it is circa 1956.

Bill:
Thanks a bunch. Sent the info to Rose and also called my collector buddy. He thinks he has a couple of old records by Jim Eanes and if he does, and if the song is on one, I will do up a clip to send Rose.

Thanks for the link Graham. I spent many years on the bandstand backing up Leigh Howell. He's a great singer and person, and listening to those songs sure brought back many great memories!
