No, can't say that I do. You might e-mail Eddie Stubbs at WSM radio 650 in Nashville. My favorite Johnny Carver album was Tie a Yellow Ribbon 73-74' with Lloyd Green. Lloyd shines like the super steel star he is. [This message was edited by Larry Miller on 18 May 2001 at 07:44 PM.] |

I got one called "With Ever Heartbeat". It's from the mid-late 60's, Imperial Records, good 4/4 shuffle and Hal Rugg on steel. The lp is called "Really Country" and it is.
I'll keep looking for the other song.

Gary, I can't seem to place the song on any of Johnny's 1960s Imperial sides, but I did hear he cut a single or two for some small labels circa 1966 with Red Rhodes & the Detours while he was part of the Palomino Club house band.
Sorry I don't have any details.
Kevin, do you know if the Imperial albums were recorded in Nashville?
It doesn't seem likely that they flew him (Hal Rugg) out West to play on Carver's sessions.

The Imperial LP I have was recorded at RCA Nashville Sound Studio.

Kevin, that may be the one I was told about.
Johnny joined Gene Davis and the Star Routers at the Palomino club in 1965.
As far as I can tell he was the replacemnt for Jery Inman.
The single was most likely recorded with red Rhodes on steel as Red was part of the the Gene Davis band from 1960-1966 and actually took over the group until the end of 1969. |
