Dave Robbins and Randell did us proud. i did not research who played behind Stu Phillips
though.
I also owe apologies to Tom Mortenson for getting his name wrong the week of April 14

Dave, first time I'd heard the Opry in months as we don't have cable, so it was a real treat to hear your Emmons. One highlight for me a while back was to hear your '64 P/P behind Jean. Was I right? Was it the '64? |

Dave, my wife - who is a singer and bass picker - liked the I to I slides you did on the break on the one song. Got to her for some reason and she looked at me and asked me why I didn't do licks like that. I do those kinds of licks but she's never noticed, but did notice yours...... |

John,
nice to hear from you and "thanks" for the kind words.
On the Opry TV show Saturday, I played the LeGrande III that I play most of the time. But if you tuned into the "radio" show late, I played the '64 behind Jean on our second spot at 10:00 (Nashville time).
I also played the '64 through my old Session 400 on the "Midnight Jamboree" after the Opry. While, as a rule, I would be playing the L-III through my Vegas, I thought it would be fun to hear the '64 and Session together again. I thought the Midnight Jamboree might be a good place to do that.I still play the '64 at the Opry whenever I need a reality check![This message was edited by Dave Robbins on 01 May 2001 at 01:45 PM.] |

Hmmm....I'll have to see the tape and check out that slide. Sounds like it might be a keeper.
