I just saw Garth Brooks on "Austin City Limits" last night. I must say that I've tried to be as open as I can be and I have tried to apply the "subjective listening" approach. I hope I don't offend anyone, but I just cannot think of a better word to describe G.B. then "repulsive." |

Course he (Garth) is a very RICH repulsive guy too. He has his place I guess, but there is no way Garth could ever be the vocalist that Conway was. |

I missed it. What songs did he sing?
Garth's an interesting character. I love many of his songs, and hate many others.
I love many of the things he does, and hate many others.
My opinion is that if he hadn't become so darned "successful", I'd like a lot more about him and hate less about him.
Note: I should probably substitute "strongly dislike" for hate.

I have a Garth CD and like some of what he does. You can't knock the success ($$$) that he has had. Garth can sing "country" if he wants to but he comes across in his live shows as a rock star wanna be. The Chris Gaines thing was probably what he ultimately wanted to be.
Sort of like the Warren Bros, who are from the local Tampa area. I've talked to several in the music business that have known them for years and they hate country music and one told me she has no idea what they are doing in Nashville. Actually they fit in with the current Nashville rock/pop crap. |

Repulsive is the perfect description! I couldn't agree more. And that absolutely PHONEY mock humility he tries to project, is incredibly offensive. |

You guys sure hit the nail on the head. I thought it was just me. Think about it. Maybe he,Shania, and Gaylord are all related. They are all trying to kill Country Music. Among Others that is!

Garth, like most 'modern' country music just generates a general apathy in me, like why bother even looking or listening to anything that doesn't have 'Alt'..No Depression, roots rock, 'Twangcore'.. retro or honky tonk as a description? |

Not only that, he's probably responsible for our sliding economy and the foot-and-mouth epidemic. |
