I just saw John Mellincamp on Leno. It was a cool minimal set up. Acoustic bass, drummer, and a dude playing a strange (to me) but great guitar.

If anyone else saw this, what kind of guitar was he playing? It looked like a very cool combo of a resonator and a standard electic guitar, but with about three electic switches in the upper front bout.

Very nice, but what the heck was that thing? (the guy played in a blues style very well - for a white guy!)

Best, and thanks in advance, -Dave

I saw JC Mellencamp on Letterman a few weeks ago. His guitar player (Andy York?) played some pretty fine slide on a [url=http://www.nationalguitars.com/resolectric.html#resolectric] National ResoLectric [/i].

Now I guess I'll have to stay up and watch ...

Just saw the show--yes it was a National Resolectric. Cool blues! Nice blonde piggyback Fender amp too!
