| Is JERRY BYRD..........LEFT handed or RIGHT handed? Just need to know. The left foot used on his volume pedal really has me confused. How about it JACK? |

| Don't know about left or right handed, but his volume pedal is wired in reverse. When he pushes down with his toes it gets softer. Louder as his heal goes down. |

I know he used to be a red head.....but never determined if right or left handed. Surely, someone out there has to know.

| Jerry is right handed. The volume pedal is wired in reverse to the normal or usual pedal. Jerry always thought it was a much smoother transition letting up (reversing) than pushing down. Think of your gas pedal on your car. Letting up does it for me for a smoother stroke. |

| It seems like it would also be a more 'natural' movement...since the hand is going down to mute, the foot would be in the same synchronous motion, rather than the opposite.... |

Anyone fortunate enough to have received a hand written letter from Jerry will immediately recognize he is right handed. His penmanship is as superb as his playing. He always hand writes his letters to folks, never using a typewriter or computer. Were he a doctor, he would have been a total failure...have you ever been able to read a prescription ? George; I have such a letter in my possession and though I have never looked to see if he was right handed or left handed, it doesn't seem important to me. If Jerry writes me a letter, that is what's important. I don't take it out too often in an effort to maintain it's newness so I won't do that either. I save it for rare visits by other steel players who want to see it.
