I've been driving my car minus one muffler (2 muffler system) for two weeks. It rumbles a bit but not too bad. So i get a new muffler system Saturday, and today i'm in my car playing the radio and cassette tapes and i only hear mids to highs. I can barely hear low freqs., and in some cases can't tell a bass is even used in the song. I try compensating with the bass knob but it only gets a bit boomy but no real good definition. Is it possible the rumble of my car damaged my hearing? Or was my brain compensating for it and needs to readjust? I'm a little concerned. Bass is so important in my listening.

Really sounds like a mis-aligned play head to me.....

That can happen to car tape units too.
