Of course she dosen't, and she dosen't even claim that she does. But, if she did claim to be country, the American public would have to belive her, & embrace her as the darling little down home country girl that she isn't. Maybe she could prove herself country by doing a country duet with that one red-neck, cowboy looking dude from the Back Street boys.

C'mon, Steve! Everything changes. I love change! Change is good!

Plus, Britney's country music sells a lot of CDs, so it MUST be good. The people know what they like!

Britney's songs are great for line dancin'--they've gotta be country!

Guys like you--what with your taste for that tired old whiny music and all--wouldda kept pedals off the steel guitar.

Britney rocks! (I mean countries.)

[The preceding satirical post is brought to you by your local Council on Irony. Got irony?]

Jeff, sounds like you could appreciate what I mean when I talk about "the never ending sequence of irony", which is pretty much a day to day thing.

I am glad that someone got my point. I guess I could just post in a way that seems to be PC, and start a booring thread about "old country good, new country bad".

Maybe I'd better go back and listen to some old Twisted Sister CDs. They might be country...

Randall H.: So you like that whiny traditional stuff like Pantera, huh? Contemporary Nashville product ("Music" is such an artsy term, isn't it?) is all about beat, cymbals, and distortion. Get with it man; where are you from? the woods?

I was astonished to see, on the Disney channel, teeny-bopper Christina Aguillera singing blues with Dr. John on the piano. She was great! I mean, really great!

It just goes to show that just when you think you have someone pegged, they can still surprise you. Britney Spears might actually be a very good country singer. We'll never know until she tries.

Jewel is OK, she actually has talent as a singer & writer. If she were to have become the singer for the Dixie Chicks instead of Natalie, they would probably be a much better group. Christina Agulerra singing with BB King on a X-mas special last year was pretty bad. Rosanne Barr with Merle Haggard was about the worst thing I have ever seen in my life.

I think Natalie sings circles around Jewel.
Christina's new cd is awesome, Britney can't touch her!
I missed Merle and Rosanne, sounds like I didn't miss much.

I think Christina actually sings at her concerts, unlike Britney "Lip Sync Diva" Spears.

She may have to. I heard this morning the group of Swedish composers/musicians who do all the music and songwriting for she and other groups such as the Backside...err..Backstreet Boys are retiring from the business deciding it is good to quit while they are ahead. (True news). Evidently, they do all the songwriting and music, and just ship it over...oh baby baby, hit me one more time with a song you Swedes.
