From the Singles Reviews in Billboard magazine:

"...Sonically, this record is an aural feast made delicious by the great lead guitar and the wonderful honkytonk steel guitar that shimmers and whines."

Nice when a reviewer gets it. Go, Steve.

I bought the "Twenty-Nine Nights" CD on the
strength of one cut-"I Feel A Heartache Comin' On'- which I could barely hear over the noise between sets at the American Legion in Tulsa, Okla.
The Post Commander gave me the name of the
album, and artist, and the song title, so when I got home to Ill., I bought the CD, and all I can say is, the young lady sings
GREAT, and Hinson's work is Superb.
There are several good shuffle tunes on
the album, so if you like good Country music, you need to buy this CD.

The American Legion...I love that!I've played some of the most fun gigs in my life at Legions,VFW's and places like that...I'd like to find a gig like that around Nashville-I've often wondered if you could play the same stuff at those places as when I was younger(Price,Chuck Berry, etc.)Now THAT'S fun!

Steve-
That's exactly what the band I'm working with does twice a month at the East Peoria
American Legion. We also sneak in a few Bob
Wills tunes.
We have a lot of fun, which is good, 'cause when it ceases to be fun, that's when I hang it up. I really enjoyed your work on Danni's CD, by the way.
Have a good-'un!

Steve,
Around here we have SPJSTs, kinda like a VFW but spelled different. I do one over in Taylor, TX about once a month, older crowd that likes classic country and a little 50's rock once in a while.

No guarantee, they pass around a great big tip jar and I usually make about 50 bucks or so, maybe a fiver or two but usually a big wad of ones.... I don't expect those places will ever change.

I picked up the Danni Leigh recording "29 nights" yesterday, and I've been listening to it pretty constantly since.
You fooled me too, Steve.... very good stuff.

Go get 'em Steve,
Come on back down here once in a while and we'll show 'em how to play honky-tonk music!

This area seems to have lost most of the folks that knew how to do it.

Kids down here now want to act like, well, you no........

Limp Bizkit and Cool Mo Dee.

Kid rock is "country" to most of 'em!
