Well, I finally gave in and dropped the cash for the Bear Family Ernest Tubb "Waltz Across Texas" box set.

Holy Mackerel! More Buddy Charleton than you can shake a stick at! (If stick shaking is your thing, that is...)

This particular box set (6 CDs)is every thing that ET and the Troubadors recorded from '61 or '62 through '66, and I just can't say enough about it. Buddy C and Leon really tear it up on the instrumentals.
The booklet that comes with it is great too, with all sorts of stories and pictures. Man, those Troubadour outfits with the Rhinestone Martini glasses on them were something!

Anyhew, just thought I'd rant.

Start saving your money and get the "Another Story" box set. It is also filled with Charlton and is equally as good as the "Waltz Across Texas" box set. I have both and I'm hard pressed to say which is best.
