Just got this album yesterday but don't look for any steel riffs. Ray still has a great voice for age 74 though

Janice...that Ray Price CD you bought with NO STEEL...will you be giving it away, or throwing it away?

(No, I won't be "catching", I'll be ducking!)

I bought his new CD the other day. It's a good album, even though there is no steel on it. Besides, if we don't support our favorite artists, they will stop making records. Ray Price is one of the best singers ever, IMHO.

The fact that the steel guitar is present on a record, doesn't necessarily make it a good record (Just listen to what comes out of Nashville these days). If there's no steel, that doesn't make it a bad record either. Ray Price has always made good music, with AND without steel.
Just my opinion.

Of course!

You are all so right!

How could I be so foolish as to like country music...and WITH a steel guitar!

Forgive me!

I will try to do better in the future.

(Would it help if I bought a Barbara Striesand CD? )

Guys, there is a little bit of steel on The Only Bridge. Junior Brown plays it.

Of course, I'm with Donny all the way on this one.

If I have to listen close to hear the morsel of steel then it’s really not for me.

Sure Ray’s a good singer, but that’s not really the point. It takes more than singing to make good music and for me steel happens to be THE key ingredient.

Yeah, I know I should expand my horizons, but there’s only so much time in a day.

I think I know why there's no steel on this CD - it's so we can add our own! Seriously, this is a great album to play along to. There is nothing twangy to interfere with the steel.
