A singer/songwriter named George Ducas put out a CD in 1994 that I thought was very good. I remember seeing a video of his song "Lipstick Promises" but I haven't seen anything from him after that. Has anyone else heard this CD and does anyone know what happened to him? |

Hey David,
They played his song here in Virginia quite a bit and then he just faded away. I haven't heard the whole CD. Was there anything else worth releasing?

Hello Jerry,
There were only two songs on the CD that I thought were only "fair", I really liked all the rest of them. They ranged from some very nice ballads to up-tempo honky tonk foot stompers. Nice guitar, fiddle, and pedal steel playing. |

Hi, David. I have 2 CD's by George Ducas; the one you mentioned, and one called "Where I Stand". I loved the first one, but was rather disappointed in the latter, as I prefer a traditional sound and the newer release was a more contemporary production. Still, I liked the singing and songwriting. I'm not sure if either CD is available any longer. I would like to know his whereabouts, also. There is some PR info floating around on the web about him, but everything I've found is several years old. I think he is pretty involved in writing; perhaps he is doing that instead of recording now. |

Might have got caught up in the label purges of the last year.
Tough on guys like him, I've heard the '94 Cd in passing, and not too long ago.
What I heard sounded pretty good.

Buddy, I didn't know he had two CDs out. Like you, I prefer more traditional country music so I think I'll stick with the CD I have. He had some songwriting ability, I hope he stuck with it.
Jason, where'd you get that slogan "the future ain't what it used to be". I love it! And it sure ain't what it used to be. |

George was produced by Richard Bennett of Neal Diamond's band. He (Richard) also produced Steve Earle's "Guitar Town". Richard tell me George is writing now. |
