I had the great fortune to see and hear Bobby play last summer in Hawaii. The man is phenomenal. The fact that he loves playing steel guitar is evident in his perpetual smile. I would advise anyone that can get to one of these performances to do so. You will be glad you did! Guaranteed! |

Bobby Ingano at the Augusta Heritage Center--What a great match! The Augusta Center is a mecca for those interested in learning and sharing all types of traditional music.

I'll be attending the convention in Winchester, during the afternoon of July 12th.
I've never been to one of these before. Does anybody know if Bobby and Herbert will be playing during the afternoon Saturday, or just for the evening luah? |

Jeff, just ask him as soon as you see him there as to what he'll be doing. I'm sure he'll be playing everywhere he can, mostly the Chicken Shack! |

Jeff,
If you can, try to attend on Thursday or Friday. In addition to the convention hours many of the performing conventioneers (including Bobby) play happy hour at restaurants around town. It's been the tradition for the past number of years for Bobby to play at the Chicken Shack restaurant on those nights.
Also on Thursday and Friday nights the convention moves to a local golf course's clubhouse for around three hours of live Hawaiian music, socializing and dancing. This event is free and open to the public. I'm confidant Bobby and Herb will be coaxed to the stage each of those nights.
These outside events only occur on Thursday and Friday evenings. Saturday evening's main event is the luau.

Thanks for the info guys. My brother and I are already registered for Saturday afternoon, so I guess we'll have to see what's up then.
Yeah, the Chicken Shack.
My father's family is from Winchester, and I've been going there on and off all my life. My dad's last surviving brother now lives in a new assisted living facility, just across the road from the Chicken Shack.
Maybe I'll see you guys that weekend. |
