Dim Lights- I think the original might have been Joe and Rose Maphis.

Vern Gosdin. Now we're talking UNDERRATED!

Where ever there's good country music, Gregg Galbraith can be found. Or, I guess that would be the other way around.

PS: What the hell do you know about it Dean? That was never a Ray Price tune, was it?

The earliest recording of "dim lights" I've ever heard was by Flatt & Scruggs, 1954.
There may be others earlier though.

Les:
Checked out the "Murder" thread tonight and unless I missed it, didn't see mention of the site you got the clips from. Any chance you could post the URL for it? Thanks

Thanks, muchly. Being home for a few weeks recovering from surgery, now have something to occupy myself with for the few bits of time I can sit down at the computer comfortably.

Graham,
You're most welcome. Sorry to hear about the surgery. I hope everything is going well now. I have several other older country music in realaudio sites bookmarked. If you'd like to listen to them, drop me an email and I'll send you the url's.
