Do they still have major country acts at the Executive Inn in Owensboro Ky? I remember working a weekend there in the early 1980's with Ray Price. It was one of the "better" rooms to work back then. Anyone recall it?

Frank,
I played lots of gigs there in my "younger days" I played in the house band in both Owensboro, and Evansville,IN Executives in the Time Out Bars.
Did you play drums around DFW in the late 70s?
Regards,
Bob |

I played at the ex inn and also the ky tavern in Henderson in late `950 and early 5l The inn was great and the ky tavern was the pits. The inn paid $35 big money in those days and ky tav paid $8 if you could catch the owner and beat it out of him.

The Executive Inns don't book stars like they used to since the owner, Bob Green died a few years ago. He used to book a group and if they were good, he would rotate them through all four of his Executive Inns. The Inn in Paducah, Ky sold a few years before Green died and they occasionally book some acts but not like they used to. As for Owensboro, it still has occasional entertainment and Evansville is no longer an Executive Inn unless they changed it back after a reorganization. |

Bob, I didn't play drums around the "metroplex" but I did work the Longhorn a few times in the late 70's while with Dave and Sugar. In fact, that's where I first heard the talented Junior Knight! |
