I need a bag that would fit a Melobar Rattler reasonably well. Anyone have a suggestion(s)? Thanks. |

The gig bag Taylor makes for their Baby model acoustic travel guitars perfectly fits most 6-string lap steels. |

Elderly sells a folk dulcimer gig bag, Black Mountain I believe, that works for me. $30. Nicely made with straps and external pocket. I use it for my Supro student deluxe with room to spare. |

Geoff, I haul my lap steels around in Martin BackPacker gig bags. They are well padded w/strap and have a large outside pocket for cords and pick/bar bags. The price is right also...Guitar Center for about 25 bucks. I think you can even stick your legs in there if they are in a separate pouch.

Tom, I think the Martin Backpacker Gig Bag is an excellent product. I didn't know Guitar Center offered one. Do you have a catalog # as I didn't see anything like that in there showroom and none of the clerks were of any help. |

Geoff:
For my Supro I use a cushioned gig bag designed for a small electric piano. They are cheap, and found in any music store that sells pianos. The size isn't exactly right, but there is space to throw in some amp chords and music.

Don,
I'm sorry that I don't have the catalog#...I walked into the Guitar center in Fresno one day looking for a suitable gig bag for my lap steels. I found the Martin gig bags in the acoustic room of the store...I'll probably go by there this week since I'm working in Fresno and I'll see if they do have a reference number for you.

If you go to www.musiciansfriend.com (part of Guitar Center) you will find a Squier Mini Strat gig bag for $30 which will probably fill your needs. |
