I recently bought a Regal resonator guitar. It's either an RD45 or an RD75, but I can't figure out how to find out which it is. Pictures I've found on the web of both models seem identical. Can anybody help me identify this instrument? If it helps, the serial number is 9609021.

Thanks

Stephen,
Cant help you with serial#,but I know that the Regal-75 is a little smaller than the 45.
I have a RD-75 and the upper bout measures
10 3/4 inches and the lower bout measures 14
inches. As far as I know this is thier only model with these dim.You can also check out www.folkofthewood.com click dobro then Regal.
They have a lot of info on the difference in the two models.Good luck!

The Regal RD 75 has a very narrow neck (only about 1 11/16" at the nut) and does not use a soundwell.

The Regal RD 45 has a much wider neck (about 2 1/16" at the nut) and uses a soundwell.

Thanks very much. Seems like it's a 75.

I think the tuning keys on the 75 are like on a regular Spanish guitar and the keys on the 45 stick straight up like on most Dobro style guitars.
