FOR SALE: Rare, 1981 Emmons p/p S12 (not SD12), serial number 190-S12. Rosewood mica. E9/B6 universal with 7 pedals and 4 knee levers.
COPEDANT:
Pedals 1 , 2 and 3 are "Emmons" E9;
Pedal 4 is the "BooWah" (commonly in the 8th pedal position);
Pedals 5, 6, and 7 are the traditional 6th pedals.
LKL raises the E's to F;
LKV (extended by Bobby Bowman) lowers string 5 B to Bb;
RKL lowers string 2 D# to C# (no half-stop) and string 8 E to D;
RKR lowers strings 4 and 8 E to D#;
This the basic "Jeff Newman" universal tuning.
The undercarriage was taken apart and reassembled by Bobby Bowman in July 2003 (Bowmanized) and plays like a dream. However, a previous owner dinged-up the back apron and top of the cabinet (in back of the neck) Looks like the bar may have been dropped on it. Cosmetically the guitar is about a 6. Mechanically, it's a solid 10.
Included with the guitar:
8 sets of Jagwire strings customized for this guitar.
1 "Sun Slip" aluminized cover made by forum member Tom Mortensen.
2 instruction manuals for newbies to the universal tuning:
Frenchy Messier's book "Easy Guide to the B6th Tuning"
forum member, Scott Henderson's book "Think B6th".
Both are great start-off tutorials.
1 ATA rated flight case upgraded to include casters and a plate lock.
The back apron is autographed by steel picker/producer Lloyd Maines (I'll include a picture of Lloyd, the guitar and me at the time of the autographing).
This guitar is stage-ready and was my main guitar for about a year and a half touring with Kevin Fowler.

Jeff, my first modern PSG was a '70 Emmons S10 p/p with a mica "fatback" cabinet and an aluminum neck. Currently, besides this S12 guitar, I own a '77 D10 p/p with a Lacquer cabinet. Both of these guitars have aluminum necks. The differences in tonal qualities among these three are slight. If any differences occur it would be that the D10 has a slightly warmer mid and low frequency tonal quality due to the lacquer finish. Otherwise, all three guitars have that signature push/pull "growl" and sustain in the upper registers. Thank-you for your interest.

This great-sounding, easy-playing horn is still available. If you want a 12-string "uni" with the legendary Emmons tone this axe is IT.

Thanks for the nice complement, Chuck. That wonderful push/pull you sold to me is the main reason I'm selling this guitar. I just don't play this one enough to keep it.

Chris, right you are!
Regarding the flight case, it's made by Tour Case Company and was included when I bought the guitar. I had Keal Case Company upgrade it with the plate lock, casters and extra spring handle. I also had Keal Case Company make one just like this one for the Sierra I used to own and it cost $650. It was worth every penny for protection and ease of mind when touring.

Thanks for your interest. I'm selling this guitar, because of favoritism. I have been playing my Emmons p/p D10 pretty much, exclusively since I bought it, over two years ago. The Emmons p/p D10 is my dream guitar.
This S12 is, simply, too nice to sit in it's case when someone could be playing it.
