I'd just like to thank new member Colby Tipton for being an honest man of his word. I highly recomend him as a seller here on the forum. The National Reso-Lectric is just as described by him and works perfectly.

Or at least tell me about the guitar.
I am doing an open mic where I do alot of slide work. There is only a vocal mic and I have no guitars with pickups in them.
I don't want to modify any of my really nice acoustics so I thought the resolectric would be the ticket.
How do you think it sounds plugged in? |

Hey Guys,
I am having a ball screwing around with it!
The p-90 is jazzy/bluesy sounding and it is very far below the strings, but I guess it's a good thing because the reso's pickup is not as loud as the p-90. I know the p-90 alone would benifit from being closer to the strings, but then it would just be too big compared to the reso. There are volumes for each pickup and a master volume and a 3-way to balance things.
I've only played through my new Epihone 5 watt Chineese head amp into my Camo Cab loaded with an old blue label Fender 12' it knows how to howl bigtime when you crank it, feedback from the reso. At reasonable volume and not facing the speaker it sounds great. I like the blended raunchy tone of the reso blended with the p-90 for bluesy grit. It does have a unique quality unlike any guitar I know.
I really bought it to disect and then design my own version. I have been sitting on a Quarterman mandolin cone and spider new in the box for a few years, so it's next on my prototype list. |
